Famitsu Digital Estimates (Jan 30 - Feb 26)

Digital Estimates for February

Usually 4 to 5 weeks after the month is over, Famitsu will have a Top 30 for that month in their newest issue, this Top 30, unlike the ones published on their website, it's only released in print form, and, what we care about, it actually contains their tracked retail software sales as well as some digital estimates.

How do they get these estimates? By looking at the weekly rankings of online stores, online polls, and probably just what they guess.

Obviously this data shouldn't be take as a hard truth as Famitsu has been wrong before, however it is data worth taking into account given the rise of digital media so it shouldn't be completely dissmised either.

Assasssin's Creed: Unity sees the highest ever month of sales for a console game in Japan, outdoing last December's Final Fantasy XV, it's also the highest sales in a month for any game on a PlayStation platform.
