A white book, or white paper, report or guide that informs readers concisely about a complex issue and presents the issuing body's philosophy on the matter. It is meant to help readers understand an issue, solve a problem, or make a decision.
Famitsu and Media Creat each release a white book every year, in essence is a book that compiles and analizes all sales information for a single year, typically these books are sold for upwards to $600 on physical and digital ways and are made by highly trained profesionals, while these books are available for sell to anyone they're aimed at equally highly trained financial analists, economists and to the game companiest themselves as the data contains all the sales results for the year it includes the health and status of the market and its used by the game companies when making decisions.
The idea of this book is to have something similar, albeit in much smaller scale, to be precise the idea is to have all sales results for 2017 compiled into a single, freely available source, while this blog, and the parent site that it helps, already have that, having to look for pages, even inside a webpage, may drag things down, mainly for those that aren't well aware of sales as is.
While this book was made with the best of intetions, keep in mind that it won't live to the standards of $600 profesional materials, and that it was put together on its entirely by a single person over the course of a month.
